Roger Federer had to answer questions all year long on why he was not winning. In one press conference Roger said, “Well lets see how the year ends up”. That made things even worse!!! Every time he lost he had to answer how do you think you are doing now that we are further into the year? Roger as calmly as he could would “say there is still more tennis to be played”.
Roger knows best. After the U.S. Open when everyone thought the year was over Federer was still hungry. In fact, he has not lost a match. While the other young guns on the tour look exhausted, the 30 year old Federer looked fresh as a daisy. He now has one more record to put under his belt as well, most ATP World Finals Championships at 6.
So lets answer the media’s question for Federer and see if this has been a bad year for Roger Federer. Lets see, Roger has won 4 tournaments, including a record 6 ATP Tour World Finals, reached the Finals of the French Open, won close to 6 million in prize money, and maybe his most astounding record of all is that he extended his record to 30 straight Grand Slam quarterfinal appearances or better!!!
